promote learning, discovery, and engagement in the areas of consumer
sciences, family studies, foodservice, hospitality, and nutrition.
Arthur
C. Avery Foodservice Research Center is designed to support
research projects in foodservice equipment, design and engineering,
and food product development.
Botanicals
Research Center for Age-Related Diseases is one of six centers
in the nation studying the effects of botanical dietary supplements.
Sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, the interdisciplinary
team at Purdue's center will focus on the effect of botanicals on
age-related diseases, such as cancer, osteoporosis, and cardiovascular
disease.
Center for Customer-Driven Quality
works with businesses to provide research and education aimed at
improving customer service.
Center for Families at
Purdue University is committed to strengthening services to
families through research, education, and outreach.
Center
for the Study of Lodging Operations provides information relating
to lodging operations in all venues, including hotels, timeshares,
resorts, casinos, cruise ships, assisted living properties, and
bed and breakfast operations.
Military Family Research
Institute was established in 2000 with funding from the U.S.
Department of Defense. The institute conducts basic and applied
research on the quality of life of military families and its implications
for job satisfaction, performance, and retention.
Purdue
Retail Institute is a center for retail education and research
in the Midwest.
Purdue Tourism
& Hospitality Research Center provides quality research
services to the tourism and hospitality industry.
Other Centers
Bone Densitometry and Bone Composition
Center utilizes Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) to measure
total body, spine, and hip bone density as well as total body composition.
A second DXA instrument is available for similar measurements in

Mineral Analysis Center
measures mineral composition of both inorganic and organic products
using Inductively Coupled Plasma Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES)
as well as Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy. For more information,

PRIDE (Purdue Resource for Integrative Dietetics and
Exercise) promotes research on appetite, food choice, energy expenditure,
energy balance and fitness while enhancing the training of students
